DOGWOOD RESCUE SOCIETY does not have a shelter. Our dogs make their way into loving homes through a network of volunteer foster homes (with foster-to-adopt as an option). We have been re-homing animals for over 30 years.
We help dogs (and sometimes cats) who find themselves abandoned, relinquished, sequestered or need new homes due to a multitude of reasons and sadly … excuses.
We are a network of dedicated people who are passionate about animal welfare. We are a social benefit, “specific breed” rescue network that primarily rescues dogs classified as “sporting” or “gun” dogs.
Our mission is to re-home homeless, unwanted or abused animals after ensuring that they are neutered/spayed and evaluated.
We work closely with other shelters and rescue organizations and regularly home dogs, sometimes bringing them from miles away. These dogs are in the Greater Lower Mainland.
We are also approached by individuals, other rescue organizations/shelters that ask to help in finding forever homes for their dogs, these are our ‘courtesy posts‘ outside of our own rescue.
We regularly feature our dogs with videos, slideshows etc!
